No visits to the house today since we're waiting on the inspector for the pool and the brick is finished. We'll go again tomorrow. In the mean time I thought I would entertain with some pictures of the girls on Easter morning and some of the wildlife at the old house. In addition to our pet squirrel, Bandito II (Bandito I was hit by a car), we have a bird that sits on the roof of the second garage and looks in the sliding glass window all day long. We also have a bird that built a nest on the front porch. I don't know if its the same bird from last year or if its a squatter but she's out there. She doesn't move off of those eggs for nothing either. I've got within a foot of her and she just looks at me, doesn't fly away. Is that normal bird behavior? Would she peck me if I tried to touch her or fly away? I've left a couple of sunflower seeds in her nest and she didn't do anything. Not sure if she eats them or if she's on a no food plan right now and its all about protecting the eggs. Cant wait to see the baby birds!

I've painted by doves nesting in a porch area. When I got near them (the eggs) mom would immediately fly away doing the "low to the ground", one-bad-wing-thing like she's injured. Bird reactions to a threatening situation. They try to lead you away from the babies by playing hurt. Interesting. Your bird seems to 'like' you more or is familiar enough to trush. Bob
