Day One - Nellie is not adjusting well.

The house at night.
Swimming after a hard day of moving boxes

Media room
Media room, the curtains are on the floor behind the couch.
Dining room, no curtains or bench pillows yet. But there's a rug!!
The bar with all 4 barstools. I think it took 4 days and 2 stores to get them all
Franks baby, the TV. Although I think the kids have watched it way more than he has.
Dining room. I need more crystal, the cabinet is pretty sparse.
Kitchen, I LOVE the new fridge
Master. This room is about as big as 3 rooms in the old house.
The picture collection waiting for help in where to put them :)
Jennys room. She picked out her own curtains and bed stuff.
Emily's room. She chose everything herself too.
Brownie's room. Nobody wanted the hamster in their room. ha!
Spare room, aka Brownie's room. Yes, the hamster has a whole room to itself.
Day two we had a visitor in the pool. I'm pretty sure this is the same frog that survived an attack by Nellie the night before. I'm also pretty sure Nellie will never touch a frog again after the symptoms she had for the next 45 minutes.
How Jenny spent the 2nd day of the move.
How Emily spent the 2nd day of the move. I wish I was a kid again!
Emily designing our housewarming party invitations. (good idea Stan)

We're in..... and totally NOT unpacked yet. I will admit that this move kicked my butt and everything took 12 times longer and more effort than I thought it would. Here are a few pictures with actual furniture in the house. You'll notice that there are no pictures on the walls and no Tatouage anywhere. I've decided to wait for my interior decorators to come over and assist me in where those type things should go. Boys??? You know who you are. I have drinks for you. Hint, hint.

Took Nellie to the house today to start getting her used to the surroundings. Finally got into the house so I could take pictures of the blinds. Now the rooms are all finished, just waiting for us to move in. In the first few pictures you see Nellie sniffing every square inch of the back yard, followed by pictures of the blinds. The last picture is of Nellie recovering from her traumatic experience of discovering that you cannot walk on the big blue thing in the back yard, and she is NOT Moses. We did find out that it is true, all dogs do know how to dog paddle. She's never been swimming in her life (and had no intention of swimming this time), but she kept her head above water. After trying to climb over the edge several times, and all of us standing at the steps yelling at her to come to us, finally she found the stairs and Frank pulled her out. I'll bet she never goes near that pool again.

Walk thru day! It went pretty well. Our total list is about 26 items that need to be fixed and the majority of those are very small 2-3 minute fixes. Only a couple of them are moderate fixes and none are major. So, looks like next thursday is good for closing.

The blinds were installed today but I didn't get any pictures of them. There were too many people roaming around the house. I'll get some tomorrow.

I thought I would throw in a few pictures of some of the Tatouage that is planned.
The laundry room will have the string of clothes hanging.
Jenny has requested the jungle animal room.
Emily will have the garden, flowers, butterflies room.
Somewhere we'll put the two 'windows'. Either in the master bedroom or on the second story wall of the dining room.

We should be pretty much finished at this point. The front door is installed, they finally fixed the "starter" step on the staircase, the pool is plastered and full of water. I plan to take one more picture of the front of the house that shows the correct door and one of the back of the house that will show the whole back side of the house with the pool but other than those two coming up this weekend I think were done with the blog! I'll blog again in a few weeks after all of the furniture is in place so you can see a more lived in look. Walk thru is tomorrow then closing next thursday. I thought it would never come!! So, who's off next friday to come help schlep boxes :)

Chris: Frank specifically took a picture for you to answer your question regarding the dishwasher and an open cabinet. Looks like your eyes were right, we cant do both at once. Oh well, if that ends up being my biggest complaint I'll consider the whole project to be a success.

The pool was plastered today and they started filling it up. Now the fun scrubbing begins. We also got appliances installed. Almost there.
