Well, they weren't supposed to gunite the pool until Monday but............... Jamie and I went out to the house today and much to my surprise the gunite was done. Now the 7 days of watering begin. Next step is tile, then the plaster and oklahoma stone.

The cabinets were set up today, as was the garage door opener. I imagine that not much work will be done this weekend but next week will most likely be painting the inside of the house and installing the staircase handrails and spindles. I think we are moving into the phase that everyone keeps talking about where things appear to slow down.

Other Stuff

No visits to the house today since we're waiting on the inspector for the pool and the brick is finished. We'll go again tomorrow. In the mean time I thought I would entertain with some pictures of the girls on Easter morning and some of the wildlife at the old house. In addition to our pet squirrel, Bandito II (Bandito I was hit by a car), we have a bird that sits on the roof of the second garage and looks in the sliding glass window all day long. We also have a bird that built a nest on the front porch. I don't know if its the same bird from last year or if its a squatter but she's out there. She doesn't move off of those eggs for nothing either. I've got within a foot of her and she just looks at me, doesn't fly away. Is that normal bird behavior? Would she peck me if I tried to touch her or fly away? I've left a couple of sunflower seeds in her nest and she didn't do anything. Not sure if she eats them or if she's on a no food plan right now and its all about protecting the eggs. Cant wait to see the baby birds!

Today the pool guys put in the rebar. Now we wait for the city inspector again and next step is gunite, probably on monday. The brickers were still working the first time Frank went to check on them but by the second time he went back they were done. What do you think of the colors??
The cabinets were delivered today too. They sit in their boxes in the family room. When Frank left the garage door opener guy was installing the tracks for the garage door. We'll probably have one in by tomorrow. Can I move in yet?!

Lot's of activity today. The brick is closer to being done, the texture is on the walls (but you can't tell very well in the pictures), and the pool people finally showed up to dig the hole. They actually got that big machine between the houses without destroying anything. We went to the house twice today so look below for the end of day update.

We went back to the house after swim class and the brick/stone is almost done. Most importantly, there's a hole for a pool.
